This medical department closes in two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system and its organs).
The aim is to provide women with compassionate and empathetic care and service from pregnancy until after delivery and with the diagnosis and treatment of other disorders of the female reproductive system.
A Consultant in Obstetric and Genecology was first employed to LHAH in May 2001 and the service has continued since then with inconsequential interruptions.
