Physiotherapy

This department addresses the illnesses or injuries that limit a person’s abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. 

The aim of this department is to restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes and treat or prevent physical challenges associated with injuries, diseases and other impairments. This is achieved specifically to each patient through physical examination, diagnosis, prognosis, patient education, physical intervention, rehabilitation, disease prevention, and health promotion. 

Some rehabilitation techniques used in this department include ultrasound and interferential therapy, Electrical Stimulation, traction, Infrared therapy and exercise therapy. 

A Physiotherapist was first employed to LHAH in September 2014 and the service has continued since then with inconsequential interruptions.
