Radiology

This department uses medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the human body.

The main focus of this department is to offer comprehensive diagnostic options to investigate any symptoms that your doctors may require. This involves several different healthcare professions working together. The radiologist is a medical doctor who has completed the appropriate post-graduate training and interprets medical images, communicates these findings to other professionals  by means of a report or verbally to assist your doctor to determine the treatment plan. 

Imaging techniques currently available at our hospital include  

• X Ray

This service was introduced in LHAH in March 2003 and the service has continued since then with inconsequential interruptions.

• Ultrasound 

This service was introduced in LHAH in August 2007 and the service has continued since then with inconsequential interruptions. 

A Radiologist was first employed to LHAH in August 2021 and the service has continued since then with inconsequential interruptions.
